- 24 ounce Jar dill pickle slices drained
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons dill dried
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder ground
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs plain
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees (following manufacturer's guidelines)
Prepare air fryer basket by spraying with vegetable-based cooking spray
Lay pickles flat on paper towels and blot to dry completely.
Using a large bowl, mix flour, dill, garlic powder, salt and pepper until thoroughly combined.
Using a fork or whisk, beat buttermilk and egg into flour mixture until consistency is smooth with only a few lumps.
Pour the panko breadcrumbs into a separate shallow bowl.
Dredge the pickle slices first into the buttermilk and flour mixture, coating completely.
Secondly, carefully lift the the coated pickle slices and coat thoroughly with a coating of the panko breadcrumbs.
Place coated pickle slices on a baking sheet and freeze or refrigerate (preferably, freeze) for 10 - 15 minutes.
Carefully place the chilled pickle slices in a single layer, without touching in prepared air fryer basket - working in batches - and air fry (air crisp) for 10 - 12 minutes, flipping halfway through until light golden brown.
Promptly remove from heat and serve hot with favorite dressing, or on top of your favorite burger or sandwich.
